Units and departments

The wards and departments Reports splits rides by: rename, merge and retire them.

Admin, then Units, lists the wards and departments your members belong to, with each unit's members and its rides over the last 30 days. Reports splits rides by unit.

A unit is added from a member's editor on Users & access, with + New unit.

Renaming

Rename keeps every member and every report row with the unit; they follow the new name.

Merging

Renaming a unit onto a name already in use offers a merge: the fix for a typo that split your figures. Merge into moves the unit's members and rides to the other unit, so Reports counts them once, and retires the first. The audit log records both units. A merge cannot be undone.

Retiring

Retire takes a unit out of the member editor. Rides already booked keep it. A unit that still has members can't be retired: move them to another unit on Users & access, or merge it, first.
