Notification preferences
Which alerts reach you by email, text or push, your quiet hours, and what a notification never says.
Open Notification preferences from the menu under your name at the top right. Each person sets their own.
Choosing your alerts
The grid lists each alert that reaches your role, with a column for each channel: Email, SMS and Push. Tick the channels you want for each alert.
For facility staff today:
- Crew waiting 15 minutes on your unit: on by text and push to start with.
- Ride went Unassigned: on by text and email to start with.
- New message from a provider: a message on one of your rides.
For provider admins and dispatchers: A ride is cancelled, when a facility cancels a ride awarded to you and chose to notify you, and New message from a facility.
For crew: A leg is assigned to you, Your ride is reassigned, released or cancelled and A new message on your ride, each on by push to start with. The first two can be moved to another channel but not turned off.
A channel that cannot deliver yet is greyed out with the reason beside it.
Some messages are always sent and are not in the grid: for example, a report summary email an administrator scheduled for you (see Report emails), a notice that a facility removed your provider from its network, and a warning that a credential is about to expire.
Quiet hours
Set From, Until and your Time zone, then Save quiet hours. Notifications are held during that window and delivered when it ends. Urgent ones are sent anyway: a dispatch message is not held overnight.
What a notification never says
A notification leaves HealthyRides, to an inbox or to a phone that may be sitting unlocked. So no email, text or push ever carries:
- a patient's name, first name or last name;
- a date of birth;
- medical notes or a diagnosis;
- a pickup or dropoff address;
- a phone number or an email address.
HealthyRides refuses to send a notification that contains any of these.
A notification carries enough to know which ride it is about, and nothing that identifies who is in it: the ride reference, the scheduled pickup time, the ride type, the provider's name, a cancellation reason, or how many minutes the crew has waited. Open the ride to see the rest. That access is recorded.
