The wait clock
What happens when a patient is not ready at pickup: the clock, the 15-minute facility alert and the 30-minute mark.
Sometimes you reach the nurses desk and the patient is not ready. The wait clock measures that time, so a wait caused by the facility is on record and does not count against your provider.
Walkthrough
- Record At nurses desk when you arrive.
- If the patient is not ready, tap Waiting — patient not ready. Confirm it, and add a reason if you like.
- A clock appears on the screen and counts up in minutes and seconds, with the word "waiting" beside it.
- Read the note under the clock. It tells you what the next mark is.
- When the patient is ready, tap Departed. The next punch you record ends the wait, and the clock disappears.
What the fields and statuses mean
- Clock counts the time since you recorded Waiting — patient not ready. It keeps counting while the screen is open.
- Facility alert at 15 minutes. At the 15-minute mark, the facility's scheduler and the person who booked the ride are told that a crew is waiting. Before the mark, the note reads "Facility alert fires at the 15-min mark."
- Facility alerted. Once the alert has gone out, the note says "Facility alerted at the 15-min mark." If the mark has passed and no alert has gone out yet, the note says only that you are past the 15-min mark.
- 30 minutes. At the 30-minute mark, the note says your dispatcher may release with no Reliability penalty. A release in this case is counted as the facility's fault, not your provider's.
- Reason is the text you typed. It is kept with the punch.
The clock only runs while Waiting — patient not ready is your latest punch.
Common questions
How do I release the ride after 30 minutes?
Your dispatcher releases a ride from My rides. Tell them how long you have waited. See Release and rebroadcast.
Does the wait hurt my provider's score?
A wait the facility caused does not. The ride is graded on when you reach the nurses desk, and a release after a 30-minute wait is not counted against reliability.
Why did the clock disappear?
You recorded another punch, which ends the wait. The time waited is saved with the ride.
The facility says nobody was told.
The alert goes out at 15 minutes. The note under the clock says Facility alerted only when it was actually sent.
